2018-19 Annual Campaign

Our goal for this year is to raise $205,000 from our parent community to fund our co-teaching model, music, Spanish, art, technology and teacher professional development. For our school to have all the resources we believe are needed for excellence, we must raise $5,400 per child this year as the state only funds 63% of our annual budget. Contributions from families not only represent a significant portion of the money we need to raise, but participation rates are a signal to other donors of the support of our families. As such, your support is instrumental in helping us sustain our school.

Technology + Music Enrichment: $39,500/year

We hope to purchase an additional set of Chromebooks so that we have one for every two students in upper elementary ($6.5K). We also hope to purchase more iPads so that we have 2 full class sets for lower elementary ($16K). We are also excited to bring a music program to our school for the spring for all grades ($17K). The arts and technology committee has been hard at work mapping out the curriculum.

Specials: $132,000/year

We are rich in educators at New School SF. With a co-teaching model and full-time art and Spanish teachers, our budget for personnel is higher than a traditional public school. We believe, however, that access to the arts, Spanish, physical education and differentiated support throughout the day are essential components of a 21st century education. We are lucky to be able to offer all students a holistic education.

Professional Development: $33,500/year

Learning and development is essential for our staff. Not only do we want our teachers to have access to best-in-class experiences to push their practice, but we also know that our teachers are hungry to learn, explore and remain inspired. This year, our staff will experience 5 days of training at the Institute for Inquiry, 10 days of diversity and equity training, and also have the option of attending conferences of their choice.
